Strong Second Half Propels Vipers to Win, 2-0
Loudoun 98 Green returned home to the comfort of Bles Field Sunday, and with a strong second half performance got tsheir much need first win in ODSL play. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Ashburn, the Vipers beat a physical TCSC Fusion Gold squad.
This was a close match that went back in forth in the first half. The Vipers actually played more in their own end of the field in the first half, but played with enthusiasm and generated several first half runs of their own. TCSC clearly is a physical bunch, and Loudoun Green did a good job using their speed and skill advantage in spots.
The story of this game was the final 20 minutes when the Vipers took control. Several scoring chances eventually earned them a PK (converted for a 1-0 lead), soon followed by a clinching strike from 10 yards out. Loudoun Green simply decided they wanted a victory and took it! (
